Gettin'

After
nearly three years of work the day of proof was near. But everyone who knows Germany well,
knows this unfriendly, stupid and unnecessary institution called TÜV. I was very lucky
though, they gave me instant approval to go back to road-duty. They didn't even complain
about my wrong gauges! But they lost some words about the rear license-plate light, I have
no clue what they were talking about. More trouble did I experience with the registration
at the county office. Those guys didn't want me, I guess. It took my owner 4 attempts to
get a registration. He had to submit:
| 1. My American title. |
| 2. The bill of sale from the last
owner noted in the title |
| 3. The customs declaration |
| 4. A certificate from the federal
institution of "motor-stuff" (Flensburg) that I wasn't reported stolen. |
| 5. Proof from MERCEDES-BENZ that no
German title had been issued before. |
| 6. Proof of insurance and the TUV
certificate that I am no hazard to others and that I really am what I seem to be. |
| This is even more difficult if
those "Beamte" are working against you: Mark had to come back twice just because
the found something new that he had to submit which was never mentioned before. Ever since
I hear him talking about dissolving those guy's jobs! But anyway, finally I got back on
the road where I belong. And I already thought that would never happen again!
Look
at that baking-tin I got for a license
plate!
